EZgo-Now (our 1st Blog) came about earlier this year as the starting point for a new On – Line Business. Prior to that I had been struggling for months trying to get my head around the bigger picture/question of just what is building and running an Internet Company? Or maybe more to the point would be just what (why) am I trying to accomplish here? Can this even be summed up in a few words or a simple statement? ( I’ve already established that The Internet is an incredibly complex, rich, immerse and diverse environment.) It’s available 24/7 runs at the speed of light & cost less than cable TV. Working from your OFFICE at your HOME The Internet now provides you with capabilities that were unavailable to you a few years ago. You have information at your fingertips useful in locating emerging markets, a new niche, new products, better sources, etc.You can also work for others with out physically going “into work”. You can work as an employee of a company or more often people & companies seem to prefer the sub or independent contractor route. Either way you’ll eliminate or greatly reduced your stress & your daily commute. From your home today you can create, run and market a business of sufficient size, sophistication and capabilities that it had once been the Exclusive Domain of The Fortune 500 Co’s. In addition to business use the average PC is quickly becoming a piece of equipment capable of performing many tasks. The PC as Home Entertainment Center by offering up equipment like H.D.T.V. in vivid 3D color, Surround Sound & TeVo to complete the package is at the top of that list. As you can see The Internet World (World Wide Web) is anything but a BLACK & WHITE WORLD. The products and services we mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg. A brief overview of where we started & we’re we at goes something like this. Having been in business for many years in the “Brick & Morter” world I decided that starting another business, an Internet Business in the “Internet World of 2009 – 2010 “ should be relatively easy. Well . . ……, It wasn’t & isn’t. In fact it is the very ease of the Internet and the nearly universal accessibility for everyone that is the at the ** core of the problem. **(more on that later) Add too that the latest assortment of technological gadgets (iPhone anyone?) PC’s & misc. peripherals which go up in power as consistently as they go down in price. All of this is merging together to re- shape the Internet Landscape. At the same time the currant on-line environment is suffering through an exponential growth in users demanding “FREE EVERYTHING”. At the same time we are seeing a big surge in the growth of both Fees and the cost of those Fees. Finally we have what I find as the most irritating. The Explosive growth in what I now broadly label as The Exploitation Industry. For many (myself included) these sites and this flurry of activity can be a very challenging if not overwhelming situation. It does gets better down the road. How far down the road however is influenced by a lot of variables, not the least of which is the choices you make & the map you follow.
Back to us. The first & one of biggest mistakes (figuratively & physically) I made was searching for “The Important Facts” (later to-be-defined-as “Keywords”) we would need to make “informed” decisions. From these I would compile a categorized list which would be prioritized and serve as the basis for The Action Plan. The first flag I should have seen was caused by the HUGE Volume of information I had quickly gathered and was now looking at. The second Flag (Couldn’t see this flag cause it’s buried behind the first flag). On any given day we would have spent around 9 to 12 hrs on line. You’d end up bleary-eyed, confused & more than a little side tracked. (More like derailed by A.D.D. on steroids I suppose). Another really Big Bold Flag missed was routinely set-of by the seemingly limitless combination of words that routinely flagged Adult Entertainment Sites. After Many months of doing this type of work in the name of research & discovery we progressed very little learned even less. Then one pivotal day I decided to make a really short To-Do List for the day. I put blinders on & got to work. Pretty quickly I was done with the first task. I started & finished the second task. then the third, fourth & so on. Six hours later I was done with the whole damn list. At the end of the day I realized that all of this wasted effort had been my search for that Silver Bullet, the Magic Bean-Stalk Bean, the Holy Grail of Internet Marketing. In other words all that un-believable B.S. I had been staring at for the last three months had crept past my defenses. I WAS BELIEVING that there really was some MAGICAL, EFFORTLESS & EASY WAY to FAST RICHES. HELLO….. THERE’S NO SUCH THING, “The Internet Lifestyle”. Is A ScaaMm,…. A Big Internet Marketing Lie. All I had needed was a place to start. All I wanted was someone to tell me what I have known for over thirty years. Hard Work, Perseverance, A Positive Attitude & last but not least A Good To Do List…… Oh yea & a little luck. One down & a bunch to go.
There’s an old Chinese proverb that says “beginning is half done” Translation: The hardest part of any project is just getting started in the first place.To that I’ll add this. Real knowledge comes from doing, by doing you’ll stay motivated, motivate people become positive people, positive people repel negative people and well….. it just keeps gettin better & better.
So ….. If you didn’t get anything else from this article maybe you can take this along . “Get started, Don’t get bogged down with detail or perfection (not in the beginning. You have a way to much to do.) Do something positive everyday, Put-in more than you take out, Read as much as you can as often as you can. Oh & always remember those foot prints in the sand. Your not on this journey alone.
